BANGI, 11 July, 2011- Two teams from UKM with one car eash were among the 121 university teams from 13 countries in Asia that took part in the four day Shell Eco Marathon to find the most fuel efficient car which ended during the weekend at the Sepang race track.
One is a hydrogen car from the KencanaGen2 team and the other a solar powered car named Tuah.
The KencanaGen2 team was made up of 30 members with Dr. Eddy Herianto Abdul Majlan, a Research Fellow at the Fuel Cell Institute as advisor.
Team leader, Marvin Madang Gau, a Chemical Engineering Student said though they did not win they gained a lot of experience participating. The competition had taught them to work together as a team even though with different backgrounds from the mechanical, chemical and electrical engineering fields to produce the car which uses hydrogen and oxygen as fuel.
